Yvonne Maria Handley Hartnett was born in 1953 in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, and studied fine art at St. Mary’s University in Twickenham, London. She paints vivid oil and acrylic landscapes of the Irish countryside and coast: Wicklow, Tipperary, Galway, and most recently Donegal, where she now resides. Her works explore ‘the unfathomable mystery of creation’ through a distinctly expressive and evocative style.
Yvonne has exhibited at galleries in Ireland, the UK and Spain, and ran a gallery in Connemara for a number of years. Her works have also been displayed in libraries, banks and cafés, and can be found in private collections all over the world. She is the ‘proud and busy’ mother of eight children and ten grandchildren and has been married to her husband John for 49 years.
